The safety of Erythritol
The safety of erythritol has been recognized internationally. The US FDA approved erythritol as a food ingredient in 1997 and allowed foods that use erythritol to be labeled “good for dental health.”

Meanwhile, erythritol can mask the potential undesirable properties in the ingredients of effervescent tablets, reduce astringency and irritation, and also have a cool taste. Therefore, erythritol can also used as a cooling agent.

In addition, erythritol is not easily degraded by enzymes, does not participate in sugar metabolism, and does not cause changes in blood sugar. So erythritol can be used in functional food and is suitable for diabetic patients.
